:
I am finding journal an interesting medium to compose messages on, which is why I don't post normally, and when I do it is cryptic and too personal.
With the variety of audience it becomes a policital decision what to divulge and what to not mention, which runs contrary to what I need it for, which is a brain dump without consideration of audience, emotion reexamination and workshop. I normally use a paper journal or socialise one on one to talk about emotional issues and interpretations. The wider audience is dissonant with emotional reexamination, it begins to be a voyeristic platform upon which to damn yourself. As I don't verbally choose to hold court to larger groups, why would I feel comfortable doing it on the socially permanent form of electronic journal? How have you dealt with this issues, especially where you are composing in an emotional state or self absorbed state and not sure whether to post socially? is there some way of letting an entry sit for a bit, and then redate it to current when you are happy for it to be visible to others? Have you chosen to just not post about these topics, and to instead just use the journal as a surrogate mass email system? Current Mood: scatty

: Philosophy revenue
Philosophy and Pizza - Let's change to a venue I can hobble to... There is a restaurant around the corner from me in Sydney Road, just north of Albert. It is called Warrick Thai, and is $10 per head for far more than anyone could eat. I will be in the front room Thursday night. I will contact everyone who has RSVPed interest separately. 14th October 2004
: Drinks and Pizza 21 October
Political and Philosophy over Drinks & Pizza Lets talk shop, about political foundations, parties, reform and where to from here. Thursday 21 October (1 week later than originally) Fitzroy Star Hotel, Napier Street, Fitzoy, back room 6:30PM till we get sick of it... Round the corner from a cheap & excellent vegy pizza shop. I was thinking of kicking it off by discussing ideas of market tools, corporate behaviour constraints, which butts to kick, and how to share the burden around to minimise the angst. Check these readings for some starting points. http://www.rmi.org/sitepages/pid564.p http://www.rmi.org/sitepages/pid176.p These ideas need adapting to and supporting in Australian conditions. Love to see you there. 11th October 2004

Work has been very engaging and busy. For the first time in my life I am actually engaged in my work. Yay!!
Hope everyone else's life is doing fine. Despite me posting, I have not read the backlog of posts over the last month and a half, and I am unlikely to get a chance to. If you want to make sure you have told me of something, please send me a personal email. Cheers eA 17th December 2003

: Amazing
I have been curious how the staffing cuts would roll out, as an exercise in understanding the flaws and faults of bureaucracy of course, but I am still amazed at how darstardly they are prepared to be. We are waiting on our envelopes this morning, to find out whether we are comfortably still employed, or have to perform like monkeys to retain our current position against our workmates, or whether we are being cut adrift completely, and expected to peck at the miniscule number of "new" positions that may be available across the department whilst awaiting the execution of our tenure in three months time. To be sure, the severence package is relatively cushy, but more than half of the employees in the department fall into the latter two categories, so no work is getting done. Oh, and despite not yet knowing whether we have to do these antics, applications of interest in continuing our jobs addressing all as of yet undeclared criteria, are due by 3PM Friday. Four days time. Join the public service. Join us... 16th September 2003
